That's because its unique apartment-style set up is meant to provide a zen space for stressed out cats, co-founder Debrah Lau said.

And where dogs are social creatures, cats are more solitary. "There is a higher need for cats to feel safe and secure when out of their familiar environments," said Lau.

Original image has been replaced. Credit: Mashable Admittedly, the boarding seems pretty tiny, with 15 capsules in the 300 sq ft space. Still, Nekoya seems to have made the most of the space, managing to properly equip each "apartment" with its own toilet and feeding area.
Tenants also get lots of play time outside of the capsules, which helps the friskier ones stretch their legs.
